Hvad vil du gøre, hvis din chef kom hen til dig, og gav dig 8,8 millioner kroner (8800000) – og sagde til dig: ”Jeg skal på en længere rejse og kommer først tilbage om meget lang tid. Jeg kan ikke have alle mine penge med mig, så jeg betror nogle af dem til dig”.
De fleste af os herinde, vil nok tage imod 8,8 millioner med bævende hjerte. Hvad skal jeg lige gøre med så mange penge?
Dagens historie handler om tre mennesker, der står i den situation. En talent var en måde at regne penge på på Jesu tid – det svarede til 20 års løn for en almindelig gennemsnitlig arbejder og det har jeg så regnet ud, at hvis det var i Danmark, så ville det svarer cirka til 8,8 millioner kroner. Så ham, der får 5 talenter betroet, får altså det, der svarer til 100 års løn betroet. Jeg ved ikke om den rige mand er Joakim von And eller Elon Musk, for han må være vanvittig rig.
Hvad vil du gøre, hvis du blev betroet 8,8 millioner kroner? Ved du hvad, du har faktisk fået noget betroet, der er mere værd end 8,8 millioner. Du har fået livet betroet! Du har fået din tid, betroet. Du har fået dine evner, ressourcer betroet. Det at du kan hive luft ind i dine lunger – det er en gave. Det at dit hjerte banker og du kan høre, hvad jeg siger – det er en gave. Det, at du har nok mad til at nå det til denne søndag – det er en gave.

hænder, øjne, ører, tunger,
levende og glade unger
Og til det kommer dine evner, dine talenter– det er også noget, der er blevet lagt ned i os. Selv din passion til at følge og lægge en masse kræfter i et eller andet, det er en gave. Intet af det, som du har, er dit og dit alene – alt er blevet betroet os …. af Gud. Din evner, dit liv, din tid – vores planet, naturen, livet på jorden i al dets farvestrålende mangfoldighed, alt det er givet til dig af Gud.
Vi er tjenere overfor Gud – vi er forvaltere af Guds rigdom og vi skal bruge denne rigdom, mangedoble denne rigdom, for det er hvad der sker, når vi bruger det, som trofaste tjenere og trofaste forvaltere. Det bliver ikke slidt ned, det vokser, der forøges, det fordobles. Og vi skal gøre det for Gud, vi skal leve vores liv for Gud, vi skal bruge vores liv for Gud. Ja, vores liv skal være vores gudstjeneste. Livet derude, udenfor kirken, i skolen, på arbejdspladsen, i studerekammeret, på besøg hos svigermor, i frivilligt arbejde, det er gudstjenesten, for det er dér vi tjener Gud. Det der foregår her, er bare at vi bliver ladet op til endnu en uges tjeneste. Det er Guds hurtigoplader. Hvis din elbil kunne nøjes med en times opladning om ugen, så ville du nok bruge den time. Her bliver vi ladet op til ugen, der ligger foran os. Og her kan vi få læsset af, for vores dumme handlinger og nederlag i ugen, der ligger bag os. Du er blevet betroet et kæmpe potentiale og Gud vil have, at vi investerer, at vi bruger, det vi har fået betroet. Og han mener det så seriøst, at han en dag vil kræve dig og mig til regnskab. Vi vil blive stillet til ansvar for hvordan vi har brugt disse betroede gaver – evner, tid, energi, talenter.
Regnskabets time kom også til de tre tjener i historien i dag. To af dem har sikkert glædet sig til regnskabets time. Man kan næsten se det for sig – som en skoleklasse: ”Tag mig, tag mig!!”.
De to første har forøget deres herres ejendom og får at vide: ”du gode og tro tjener”. De var gode, fordi de var tro. De var trofaste. Og så var der den tredje tjener – den dumme og dovne.
Når jeg læser teksten her, så hører jeg det som Guds reminder til mig: Er der områder, hvor du ikke er trofast? For ved du hvad, jeg tænker at vi som mennesker ikke kan være trofast på alle områder altid. Har vi fokus et sted, så forsømmer vi et andet sted. Derfor er det måske godt lige at stoppe op: Er der områder, hvor jeg ikke er trofast lige nu? Oftest er det det, der er lige foran os, som vi overser. Det kan jo godt være, at konen skal have en buket blomster på andet end bryllupsdagen… selv om hun så tænker at du skal have klinket nogle skår, siden du kommer med uforudsete blomster. Det kan være dine børn – din familie. Der er altid gode undskyldninger: Der kommer altid et eller andet uforudset ind fra højre på dit arbejde. Og så bliver det ikke til noget med den kop kaffe med din bror eller søster.
Måske forsømmer du noget åndeligt. Du var vant til at læse i Bibelen hver dag, du var vant til at være generøs med din tid og dine ressourcer. Det kan være trofasthed overfor din kirke, din menighed, hvor du hører til
Det er ikke sagt for at dømme nogen, for jeg har også selv mine områder, hvor jeg må stoppe op: Her er jeg ikke længere en så trofast tjener, som jeg plejede at være. Jeg var det en gang, men lige så langsomt ebbede det ud af en eller anden grund.
Gud ønsker at vi skal være trofast, sådan som han er – i kirken, i ægteskabet, i familien, i skolen, på arbejdet eller blandt naboer og venner. Vær trofast.
Til sidst kommer den tredje mand ind, der gravede sin ene talent ned i baghaven. Han vidste, hvad der var det rigtige at gøre, men han gjorde det ikke. Hvorfor gjorde den sidste tjener ikke noget? Han siger det selv: ”af frygt for dig gik jeg hen og gemte din talent i jorden”. Tjeneren var bange, tjeneren frygtede sin herre. Tjeneren så ikke sig selv som en tjener, men han beholdt sin talent for sig selv. Han brugte det ikke. Det er ligesom os, hvis vi tænker: Min talent er mit. Jeg vil ikke hjælpe nogen, jeg vil ikke tjene nogen, jeg vil ikke være selvopofrende. Jeg har fået min talent, og jeg holder det for mig selv, graver den ned.
Det Jesus ønsker med historien her er at han vil fortælle dig: Hold op med at være den tjener. Han ved hvad han skal gøre, men gør det ikke, fordi han er bange. Han frygter Herren. Og den eneste grund til at du kan være bange for Gud, det er hvis du ikke kender Gud. Kender ham igennem Jesus. Hvis du ikke ser ham igennem de briller, som du får på fra Jesus, når du ikke møder Gud frelst af nåde ved tro. Er vi ikke frelst af nåde ved tro, så ser vi Gud ham som Herren, og os selv som tjenere, der bruger vores betroede talenter, så ser vi livet her som vores, hvor vi kan gøre hvad vi vil.
Når jeg læser teksten til i dag, så rammer spørgsmålet mig: ”Er du en trofast tjener?”. Uanset om jeg er helt væk, som ham den sidste. ”Du dovne og dumme tjener”. Uanset om jeg har områder lige nu, hvor jeg ikke føler mig trofast, hvor Gud peger ned: ”Her vil jeg gerne have dig mere på banen”. Uanset om jeg er trofast eller utro, så hiver jeg det frem, som Paulus skriver om vores forhold tik Gud: ”er vi utro, forbliver han dog tro, thi fornægte sig selv kan han ikke” (2. Tim 2,13). Det er det, som Bibelen handler om: Vi gør ikke alting rigtig, men at han har gjort alting rigtigt. Vi er ikke altid trofast, men han er altid trofast. Bibelen handler om at Gud har en plan for mig og for hver eneste af jer. En plan om lykke, ikke om ulykke om at give os en fremtid og et håb. Han vil have os til at gå ud i vores baghave og grave talentet op og så gå ud i Jesu navn og være det Guds barn, som vi er døbt til at være. Verden har brug for trofaste tjenere. Dit lokalsamfund har brug for trofaste tjenere. Din familie har brug for trofaste tjenere. Og du vil opdage, at jo mere du bruger din talent jo mere vil det vokse. Og jo mere vil du føle: Jeg er dér, lige dér, hvor Gud vil have jeg skal være.
